Severovýchod Slovenska so svojimi dvoma najväčšími turistickými skvostmi - mestom UNESCO Bardejov a Bardejovskými Kúpeľmi, je celoročným lákadlom pre turistov. V týchto dňoch tu dokončujú dve nové atrakcie.

“Obnovu turisticko-relaxačného chodníka Kyslíkova cesta MIHAĽOV – BARDEJOV” a “Singletrack – Bardejovské Kúpele 2. etapu”. Obe budú slávnostne odovzdané a plne zdarma prístupné verejnosti od začiatku decembra 2016.

Kyslíková cesta Mihaľov-Bardejov
Za dva mesiace (október - november 2016) bola obnovená turistická infraštruktúra v regióne „Šariš“ - Bardejov a okolie. Na takmer 3 km dlhom turisticko – relaxačnom chodníku “Kyslíková cesta Mihaľov” obnovili 19 zastávok, na ktorých osadili prvky na cvičenie a stala sa tak ďalšou atrakciou mesta Bardejov. Obnovu financovala Krajská oblastná organizácia (KOCR) Severovýchod Slovenska, v spolupráci s Oblastnou organizáciou cestovného ruchu (OOCR) „Šariš“- Bardejov, prispelo aj Ministerstvo dopravy SR. Riaditeľ OOCR Šariš – Bardejov Radomír Jančošek k tomu poznamenal: „Za 2 mesiace sa nám podarilo obnoviť takmer 3 km dlhý chodník, na ktorom je 19 stanovísk. Na každom sú drevené prvky na cvičenie a postupne pribudnú aj tabuľky s vysvetlením, ako postupovať. Vznikne aj nový altánok s kapacitou 20 osôb na sedenie pod strieškou a 10 osôb pri ohnisku (4-krát 2 m lavice, 2-krát 2 m stoly). K tomu pribudne aj ohnisko z kameňa a studnička. Súčasťou cesty sú aj 2 informačné stojany a odpočívadlo so sedením pri 3 stoloch. Bude tam aj turistická mapa a informačná tabula.“

Singletrack
Druhá etapa novej turistickej trate pre cyklistov a peších – tzv. singletrack, ktorá sa teraz končí, nadväzuje na prvú etapu singletracku nazvanú Čerešenka. Tá bola dokončená pred rokom v decembri 2015 a prepojila Kyslíkovú dráhu v Bardejovských Kúpeľoch so sedlom Čerešňa, ktoré sa nachádza v lokalite Mníchovského potoka. Prvá etapa má dĺžku 1 650 m a prevýšenie 140 výškových metrov. Má odvodnenie, drenáže, mostíky, tabuľky a smerové šípky. Je doplnená navigačnými tabuľami so smerovníkom na Čerešňu, kde je aj funkčná studnička.

Kyslíková dráha v Bardejovských Kúpeľoch
V Bardejovských Kúpeľoch bola od októbra do konca novembra 2014, s nákladom 10 000 EUR, zrekonštruovaná jedinečná kyslíková dráha. Má dĺžku 1 km a je na nej štrnásť stanovíšť, na ktorých sú pripravené relaxačné a pohybové cvičenia. Pôvodná kyslíková dráha bola vybudovaná v roku 1974, ale časom boli jej drevené zariadenia znehodnotené. Vďaka OOCR „Šariš“ – Bardejov bola znovu obnovená, keď sa vybudovali a rekonštruovali odpočívadlá, drevené atrakcie, informačné tabule, lavičky a koše. V súčasnosti slúži nielen kúpeľným hosťom, ale aj domácim a všetkým návštevníkom.
R. Jančošek vyzdvihuje: „Na každom zo 14 stanovíšť sú drevené prvky na cvičenie a tabuľky s vysvetlením, ako postupovať. Drevené tabuľky motivujúce k cvičeniu majú pôvodný ráz a sú napísané svojským štýlom. Dráha slúži aj na príjemné prechádzky pre ľudí, ktorí cvičiť nechcú alebo nemôžu. Je pravdepodobné, že sa po týchto miestach prechádzali aj historické osobnosti, ktoré v minulosti navštívili Bardejovské Kúpele.“ V Bardejovských Kúpeľoch okrem rakúskej cisárovnej Alžbety (Sisi) pobýval aj rakúsko-uhorský cisár Jozef II. (1783), Mária Lujza, neskoršia manželka cisára Napoleona (1809), ruský cár Alexander I. (1821) a poľská kráľovná Mária Kazimiera Sobieska, manželka poľského kráľa Jána III. Sobieského.
V tomto roku cestovný ruch v regióne dostal už v lete dva ďalšie nové impulzy. Od júla zdobí Radničné námestie Bardejova bronzová socha kata v životnej veľkosti a v centre Bardejovských Kúpeľov, pred strediskom obchodu a služieb, pribudla nová oddychová a športová zóna určená pre najmenších turistov a rodiny s deťmi.

Jančošek k tomu poznamenáva: „Nová atrakcia Bardejova - socha kata, sa okamžite po osadení stala predmetom záujmu návštevníkov. Fotografujú sa s ňou jednotlivci i celé zájazdy domácich a zahraničných turistov. Obľúbenou je hlavne póza s hlavou na kláte, pričom si pod sekeru neváhajú kľaknúť pre čo najlepšiu fotografiu mladí i starí turisti. Doteraz bola jednou z najfotografovanejších sôch v okolí Bardejova socha cisárovnej Sisi v neďalekých Bardejovských Kúpeľoch. Socha kata, spolu s ďalšími tradičnými i novými atrakciami, akou je napríklad nová rekreačná zóna pre deti v Bardejovských Kúpeľoch, prispeli k zvýšeniu návštevnosti regiónu severovýchodného Slovenska. Medzi najväčšie doterajšie lákadlá patril reprezentatívny tradičný Bardejovský jarmok.“

Severovýchod Slovenska má čo ponúknuť nielen v lete, ale aj v zime.
