Ďalším typom sakrálnych stavieb sú šintoistické svätyne (Kamiji-Jama, Nara) či samotný Cisársky palác. Zo svetských stavieb je známa cisárska vila Kabura, Kobori Enšu zo začiatku 17.storočia a vyznačuje sa jednoduchosťou a úzkym vzťahom k prírode.
