Od chvíle, keď si šteniatko prinesiete domov, váš život naberie na obrátkach. V prvom roku života prechádza šteniatko niekoľkými fázami rastu, z ktorých každá má svoje špecifické požiadavky na kŕmenie. Ako často kŕmiť šteniatka a kedy prejsť na granule pre dospelé psy?

Jednotlivé fázy prvého roku života

6. – 12. týždeň

Pre správny vývoj je nevyhnutné kŕmiť ho špeciálnym krmivom pre šteňatá, ktoré je bohaté na živiny – má vyšší obsah bielkovín, tukov, vitamínov a minerálov potrebných na podporu zdravého rastu. V tomto veku by mali byť kŕmené štyrikrát denne. Šteňatá veľkých plemien by mali dostávať suché granule pre šteniatka bez pridanej vlhkosti už od 9. alebo 10. týždňa, zatiaľ čo malé plemená môžu zostať na vlhčenom krmive, ktoré uľahčuje trávenie, až do 12. týždňa. Granule namáčajte v teplej vode alebo vývare bez soli.

3. – 6. mesiac

Šteňatá v tomto veku stále rýchlo rastú a potrebujú stabilný prísun energie a živín, môžete však postupne znížiť počet kŕmení zo štyroch na trikrát denne. Šteňa by malo do 12. týždňa stratiť svoje typické okrúhle bruško.

6. – 12. mesiac

V tejto fáze prejdite na kŕmenie dvakrát denne. Malé plemená môžu prejsť na krmivo pre dospelých psov už v 7. až 9. mesiaci, pozrite si ponuku na Panakei.sk, zatiaľ čo väčšie plemená potrebujú zostať na krmive pre šteňatá dlhšie, do 12. alebo dokonca 14. mesiaca, aby sa predišlo preťaženiu žalúdka a problémom s kĺbmi.

Koľko krmiva dávať šteniatku?

Skôr než sa zafixujete na presné množstvo krmiva v jeho miske, sledujte, ako sa vaše šteňa vyvíja. Jeho kondícia je lepším ukazovateľom správneho kŕmenia ako množstvo zjedeného krmiva. Ak šteňa občas vynechá jedlo, nemusíte sa znepokojovať – ak nezožerie všetko, čo mu dáte, znížte dávku pri ďalšom kŕmení. Ak vynecháva jedlo pravidelne alebo vykazuje známky letargie, zvracia a hnačkuje, poraďte sa s veterinárom. Niektoré tráviace ťažkosti môžu byť zmiernené probiotikami pre psa.

Veľkosť porcií a nutričné požiadavky závisia od viacerých individuálnych faktorov u každého psa – zohľadniť by ste mali napríklad rýchlosť metabolizmu, stavbu tela, úroveň aktivity či zdravotný stav. Konzultácia s veterinárom je vždy na mieste.
